چکیده

Foreign bodies should be removed from skin lacerations and wounds during the primary wound management stage. Detection can be performed by various investigative techniques, including plain radiography, computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography, and metal detectors. Removal of foreign bodies depends on the site of injury and the fragment material. Conventional retrieval is done by surgical exploration of the site of injury using additional incisions. This procedure may result in scar tissue and is unfavourable in cosmetically sensitive regions, such as the face, neck, or hands. Remaining particles can cause pain, neurologic symptoms, vascular compression, functional loss, abscesses or granulomas, infection, and cosmetic impairments, especially in uncovered regions of the body. Metallic artifacts are a contraindication for magnetic resonance imaging and may cause severe artifacts in CT. The following magnetic technique provides a minimally invasive alternative for removal and identification of ferromagnetic foreign bodies, especially in sensitive regions, such as the face or hand.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP): a new approach for the detection of foot-and-mouth disease virus and its sero-types in Pakistan

Successful disease management requires a rapid and sensitive diagnosis method that can recognize early infection even before the manifestation of its clinical signs. The only available field diagnostic tests for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) are lateral flow devices, commonly known as chromatographic strips. Low sensitivity and inability to detect FMD virus (FMDV) at the serotype level are limit...

Graphite Phase Formation in Al Alloyed Ductile Irons

The influence of aluminum, within the range of 0.08 - 6.16 wt.%, on the microstructure and hardness of as-cast ductile cast iron has been studied. A number of irons of different composition have been made by green sand casting and gravity die casting of appropriate design to provide the experimental materials. It has been found that Al addition and higher cooling rates in permanent mould castin...

Spatial detection of ferromagnetic wires using GMR sensor and based on shape induced anisotropy

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...

Investigation on Process Parameters of Ball Screw Finishing Using Magnetic Abrasive Field

Surface finishing is one of the most significant steps in industries which are engaged with surface quality. Finishing by magnetic field is a new method of surface finishing. In this process, machining is executed in mechanical way and semi-homogeneous abrasive slurry performs finishing of surfaces. Needed force to grind surfaces is made by magnetic field. Therefor this method is considered as ...
